Client: Jockey Club Event – Cheltenham Festival
The iconic Cheltenham Festival, one of the most famous horse racing festivals in the world. The event has grown year on year to become one of the largest events with over a quarter of a million supporters attending the 4 days of racing which requires major construction of temporary demountable structures and associated facilities.
The ICE team have been working with the Jockey Club Cheltenham Festival Team, providing a number of health and safety management service and support in fulfilling their duties as set out under the CDM Regulations.
Services provided include:
- Pre-construction information reports
- Notification of the project to the relevant authorities (HSE, Fire Service)
- Creation of the Construction Phase Plan
- Review of designs and design changes
- Pre-qualification of all event contractors
- Creation of bespoke induction systems
- Regular health and safety / CDM compliance auditing
- Provision of a full-time health and safety advisor onsite during the build and load out of the event.
- Provision of event management staff during the event
- Reviewing safety of the structures and crowd movements during the event
